Samer Choucair: Economic Transparency Is the Key to Attracting Investment in the Region
Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that the accuracy and transparency of economic data have become among the most important factors investors rely on when evaluating markets, noting that clear financial and economic indicators help strengthen confidence and attract long-term investment.
He explained that the fiscal pressures some countries in the region face highlight the importance of having precise data and clear mechanisms for measuring economic burdens, helping enable more efficient decision-making, and strengthening the chances of securing international financing and support.
He added that investors today look at data quality, legislative environment stability, and governments' ability to manage economic variables, as key elements in evaluating investment opportunities, alongside growth indicators and economic reforms.
He noted that Saudi Arabia continues strengthening its position as one of the most prominent investment destinations in the region, benefiting from economic and regulatory reforms, and its giga development projects under Saudi Vision 2030, which have helped diversify the economy and create investment opportunities in tourism, renewable energy, modern technologies, and logistics services sectors.
He affirmed that these shifts give investors a more stable environment, and offer opportunities for sustainable growth, particularly amid continued infrastructure development, improving the business climate, and supporting the private sector, strengthening the Saudi market's appeal both regionally and internationally.
Choucair called on investors to adopt a strategy based on diversification across sectors and markets, while focusing on projects backed by clear economic policies, and not settling for following short-term indicators, but studying far-reaching economic trends when making investment decisions.
He concluded his remarks by affirming that the current stage requires a balanced investment vision combining risk management with capitalizing on growth opportunities, noting that markets relying on transparency and continuous reforms will be best positioned to attract capital and achieve sustainable development in the coming years.
