Samer Choucair: Hajwalah Sport Opens New Investment Horizons in Saudi Arabia
Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that adopting "Hajwalah" as an official sport under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation represents an important shift in the trajectory of motorsports in the Kingdom, and reflects the success of Vision 2030 in turning popular activities into organized sporting events that provide new investment opportunities and strengthen safety and professionalism standards.
He explained that holding the first official Hajwalah event on the runway of Banaban Airport in Riyadh, amid large crowds and sold-out tickets, confirms growing demand for this type of event, noting that organizing it within dedicated tracks and under technical supervision helps curb random practices, and opens the door to developing an integrated industry tied to motorsports.
He added that participants are now required to comply with technical safety requirements, equip vehicles with the necessary protective equipment, and obtain the required licenses, raising the level of professionalism and strengthening investor and sponsor confidence in this sector.
Samer Choucair said: "Turning Hajwalah into an official sport isn't limited to organizing competitions, it creates an economic ecosystem encompassing event organization, corporate sponsorship, media production, logistics services, and the auto equipment industry, positively reflecting on the sports economy."
He noted that the sports sector in the Kingdom is experiencing accelerating growth driven by massive investments under Vision 2030, hosting global sporting events, and developing major projects such as Qiddiya, making motorsports one of the sectors poised to achieve strong growth in the coming years.

He added that investment opportunities extend to building tracks and training centers, organizing tournaments, developing digital content and live streaming, in addition to investing in performance parts and safety systems, and sports tourism tied to motorsport events.
He affirmed that the sector's success depends on continued commitment to safety and governance standards, and building partnerships between the public and private sectors, ensuring growth sustainability and achieving economic and social value over the long term.
He concluded by affirming that the Kingdom offers a new model for turning popular passion into an integrated sports and investment industry, noting that investors who enter this sector early, while complying with regulations and regulatory requirements, will be well positioned to benefit from the expected growth of motorsports under Saudi Vision 2030's targets.
