Is Luxury losing its magic ?Fashion Giants a face a reality check
Luxury brands have always been known for expensive prices, exclusive products, and strong customer demand. But in 2026, even some of the biggest names in fashion are facing difficulties.
Companies such as Louis Vuitton's parent company, LVMH, have been affected by weaker demand, especially in China. In October, LVMH reported a 5% decline in quarterly sales from its fashion and leather goods division.
The slowdown has raised concerns about whether consumers are becoming less interested in spending large amounts of money on designer products.
For years, luxury brands continued raising prices while customers were willing to pay for exclusivity. Now, some shoppers appear to be thinking more carefully before making expensive purchases.
This does not mean luxury fashion is disappearing. Brands still have loyal customers, and certain products remain highly desirable.
However, I believe luxury companies may need to focus more on quality, creativity, and giving customers a reason to spend.
A famous logo can attract attention, but is it enough to convince someone to spend thousands of dollars? That is the challenge luxury brands are facing today.
