Samer Choucair: Bitcoin Faces a Critical Test as Investors Await the Direction of US Interest Rates

Entrepreneur Samer Choucair said the Bitcoin market is passing through a pivotal phase that requires investors to focus on risk management and capital allocation amid continuing uncertainty surrounding US monetary policy and global liquidity trends.

He noted that the current volatility reflects a broad reassessment of high-risk assets rather than a fundamental change in the long-term outlook for digital assets.

Choucair explained that Bitcoin’s movements in recent months have coincided with US interest rates remaining at relatively elevated levels, prompting many financial institutions to rebalance their portfolios and move toward instruments offering more stable returns while monitoring macroeconomic developments before increasing their exposure to cryptocurrencies.

Samer Choucair noted that institutional investors no longer rely solely on daily price movements. They are monitoring more significant factors, including exchange-traded fund flows, liquidity levels, regulatory developments, and the ability of digital assets to retain their appeal in a restrictive monetary environment.

He added that technical levels remain closely watched by market participants, but investment decisions should not depend on technical analysis alone.

They should instead be based on a comprehensive assessment of liquidity, global economic trends, and the level of risk considered acceptable within investment portfolios.

Choucair emphasized that long-term investors should distinguish between strategic investment and short-term trading.

He noted that building positions gradually and carefully managing the scale of exposure remain among the most appropriate approaches in markets characterized by high volatility.

Samer Choucair added that Gulf countries continue to focus on investment in the digital economy, innovation, and advanced technologies.

However, direct exposure to digital assets remains limited compared with investment in infrastructure, energy, and artificial intelligence, reflecting a more conservative approach to risk management.

Concluding his remarks, Samer Choucair emphasized that Bitcoin’s future will remain closely connected to developments in global liquidity, the direction of interest rates, and investor confidence.

He explained that successful investment in digital assets during the next phase will not depend on predicting the precise timing of the market bottom, but on building balanced portfolios aligned with investors’ objectives and capacity to tolerate risk.
