Samer Choucair: Saudi Arabia”s Progress in International Rankings Strengthens Its Standing as a Global Investment Destination

Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair said that the global achievements Saudi Arabia recorded during June 2026 reflect the accelerating pace of economic transformation driven by Saudi Vision 2030, affirming that the results shown in the "Saudi Global Feats" infographic represent strong indicators of the improving competitiveness of the Saudi economy and its rising appeal to local and international investors.

Choucair added that the Kingdom's leading position across a number of global indicators in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, education, tourism, infrastructure, and sustainability strengthens the confidence of institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds, and supports the redirection of capital toward non-oil sectors with sustainable growth potential.

Global Achievements Reflect the Strength of the Saudi Economy

Samer Choucair explained that the achievements the Kingdom recorded during June 2026 were not isolated successes, but rather the result of long-term investments in education, innovation, infrastructure, and digital transformation, which has been reflected in the Kingdom's improved standing in international indicators.

Choucair added that these results give investors a clearer picture of how the Saudi business environment is developing, and confirm the success of economic reform programs in strengthening the national economy's competitiveness.

International Rankings Strengthen Investor Confidence

Samer Choucair noted that the Kingdom achieved first place globally in AI readiness for higher education graduates according to a Pearson and AWS report, and also led the world in a cybersecurity index.

Choucair added that the Kingdom ranked third globally in business creation, fourth in equal opportunity, and ninth in auditing and accounting practices, while also placing third among G20 countries and thirteenth globally in the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2026, in addition to leading G20 countries in a 2025 safety index according to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals indicators database.

Choucair affirmed that these indicators reflect a clear improvement in governance, productivity, and the regulatory environment, which raises the Kingdom's appeal for foreign direct investment.

Saudi Brands Strengthen Economic Power

Samer Choucair explained that awards received by national entities such as Saudi Railways (SAR), Saudi Aramco, and the Saudi Tourism Authority as part of the Global Brand Awards 2026 confirm the growing competitive strength of Saudi brands on the international stage.

Choucair added that these achievements not only enhance the Kingdom's image but also support the tourism, logistics, energy, and entertainment sectors, and increase investor confidence in the Saudi economy.

Investment Opportunities in Promising Sectors

Samer Choucair affirmed that these achievements are prompting investors to reassess their portfolios, with capital flows expected to continue toward sectors that have proven their global competitiveness, chief among them education, technology, tourism, and digital infrastructure.

Choucair added that companies listed on the Saudi stock market linked to these sectors may benefit from improved valuations and greater interest from foreign investors, while the venture capital sector is seeing growing opportunities in innovation-driven startups.

Education and Innovation Sector Leads the Next Phase

Samer Choucair noted that the inclusion of 22 Saudi universities among the top 1,400 globally in the QS World University Rankings 2027, and 34 universities among the top 1,500 in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026, reflects the development of the Kingdom's higher education system.

Choucair added that King Saud University's third-place global ranking in pharmacy and toxicology, alongside the achievements of Saudi teams in AI, physics, and mathematics olympiads, confirms the Kingdom's success in building a knowledge base capable of supporting the digital economy and attracting investment in research and development.

Tourism and Entertainment Continue to Grow

Samer Choucair explained that awards received by the Saudi Tourism Authority and Riyadh Airports, alongside Saudi entities winning awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026, and King Salman Park receiving a global silver award in sustainable development, confirm the Kingdom's success in cementing its position as a global tourism and investment destination.

Choucair added that these achievements will be reflected in growing investment in hotels, resorts, and entertainment projects, supporting Vision 2030 targets to increase tourism's contribution to GDP.

Infrastructure and Digital Transformation Attract Capital

Samer Choucair noted that the Ministry of Energy winning the award for best government entity in digital solutions, SABIC ranking second globally as the best brand in the chemicals sector, and awards received by Dammam Airports and Saudi Railways in digital transformation and safety systems, reflect the Kingdom's continued development of modern infrastructure based on innovation and smart technologies, adding that these projects open the door for investors to participate in long-term financing programs and public-private partnerships.

Sports, Health, and Sustainability Support the New Economy

Samer Choucair affirmed that sporting achievements by Saudi national teams in judo, jiu-jitsu, and para-athletics, along with the handball team's qualification for the 2027 World Cup, strengthen the Kingdom's position in the sports economy.

Choucair added that international accreditations received by health institutions, and the patent registered by Najran University, reflect the development of the health and innovation sectors, and support investment opportunities in medical tourism, medical technology, and the health economy.

Major Opportunities Alongside a Number of Challenges

Samer Choucair explained that investors still need to account for certain challenges, such as commodity price volatility and geopolitical variables, though the diversity of achievements across sectors provides a more solid base for economic growth and reduces dependence on any single sector.

Choucair added that the most attractive opportunities lie in partnerships with leading Saudi institutions, investment in artificial intelligence, the space economy, and sustainable projects, alongside benefiting from the evolving governance and transparency standards.

A Forward-Looking Vision for Investment in the Kingdom

Samer Choucair concluded by affirming that the global achievements recorded by the Kingdom during June 2026 mark the beginning of a new phase of economic growth, not merely temporary successes.

Choucair added that the Kingdom's continued improvement in international competitiveness and standing in global indicators will support growth in IPOs, foreign direct investment, and the expansion of strategic projects, making the Saudi economy one of the most attractive economies for capital in the coming years, amid the ongoing implementation of Saudi Vision 2030 targets.
