Samer Choucair: Saudi Arabia Topping the G20 Safety Index Strengthens Its Investment Appeal

97.7% of residents feeling safe walking alone at night — that single figure, drawn from UN Sustainable Development Goals data, tells investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair something important about where global capital should be looking. He affirmed that Saudi Arabia topping the G20 nations in the Safety Perception Index for 2025 represents proof of the success of the comprehensive development ecosystem, and strengthens the Kingdom's position as one of the most attractive investment environments, given the stability and confidence it offers local and international investors.

He explained that data from the General Authority for Statistics, drawing on the UN SDG indicators database, showed that 97.7% of the population feels safe walking alone at night in their residential areas, while the rate among females reached 94.9%, reflecting an advanced level of quality of life and the efficiency of the Kingdom's security system.

He noted that this achievement comes as an extension of the efforts Saudi Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program are leading, which have contributed to developing the security and digital infrastructure, and strengthening community and cybersecurity, providing a stable environment supporting economic growth and investment sustainability.

Choucair said that global investors place stability and security at the top of market selection criteria, affirming that the Kingdom topping this index strengthens its ability to attract quality investment, particularly in tourism, hospitality, entertainment, real estate, and advanced technology sectors, alongside the implementation of major national projects.

He added that the target of welcoming 150 million visits annually by 2030 strengthens the expansion opportunities in tourism and service investments, while rising safety levels contribute to supporting demand for real estate projects, smart cities, and digital services, and increase global companies' confidence in expanding their business within the Kingdom.

He affirmed that the period ahead holds promising investment opportunities in artificial intelligence, financial technology, renewable energy, and the digital economy, alongside projects tied to quality of life, noting that these sectors directly benefit from the stable environment the Kingdom has cemented in recent years.

He concluded by affirming that security is no longer just a social indicator, but has become one of the most important economic fundamentals strengthening nations' competitiveness, explaining that the Kingdom has succeeded in turning stability into a strategic advantage supporting sustainable growth, attracting capital, and establishing a new phase of economic development aligned with Saudi Vision 2030's targets.
