*Samer Choucair: Fan Passion Is Turning Saudi Sports Into a Rising Economic Power*

Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that the broad fan engagement on social media platforms following the end of the national team's tournament run reflects a live market and a growing consumer base capable of supporting major economic expansion in the sports industry.

He explained that this type of engagement is no longer read as sporting enthusiasm alone, but as an indicator of future spending scale in sponsorships, sports media, ticketing, and entertainment experiences tied to events.

He noted that the sports sector in Saudi Arabia is experiencing accelerating growth, rising from roughly 8 billion dollars currently to more than 22.4 billion dollars expected by 2030, driven by investments exceeding 6 billion dollars since 2021, encompassing developing the local league, attracting international sports investments, and expanding infrastructure for major events, explaining that these figures are poised to rise further as privatization projects accelerate and private-sector partnerships expand.

Choucair affirmed that "fan passion is the primary driver of the sports economy," explaining that every fan engagement gradually converts into economic value through advertising, broadcasting rights, sports tourism, and digital content platforms, adding that genuine investment isn't limited to teams and players, but extends to building an integrated ecosystem encompassing stadiums, entertainment cities, sports technology, and digital fan experiences.

*Vision 2030's Framework*

In a related context, Choucair explained that Vision 2030 has provided a regulatory and investment framework making the Kingdom one of the fastest-growing sports markets globally, with major projects such as Qiddiya and Riyadh Boulevard, and long-term preparations to host major international tournaments, strengthening Saudi Arabia's position as a regional hub for sports and entertainment.

*Where the Opportunities Lie*

Choucair affirmed that the most prominent investment opportunities during 2026 lie in sports technology, esports, sports tourism, and event infrastructure, in addition to women's and youth sports, which are experiencing accelerating growth in participation and demand.

He stressed that the Saudi market today enjoys advanced maturity and regulatory stability, making investing in it a long-term opportunity, saying that turning fan passion into economic value is the essence of the period ahead, and whoever understands this equation early will gain a clear competitive advantage.

He concluded by affirming that the period after the World Cup isn't the end of a sporting event, but the beginning of a new economic cycle, as sports transforms from mere competition into an integrated industry supporting economic diversification goals and creating sustainable investment opportunities.
