Samer Choucair: Saudi Arabia’s AI Boom Is Expanding Investment Opportunities Across the Digital Economy

Entrepreneur Samer Choucair said the rapid increase in the use of artificial intelligence tools across Saudi Arabia reflects a structural transformation in the digital economy and is laying the foundation for a new phase of capital allocation toward technology infrastructure, cloud computing, and AI applications in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

In a statement, Choucair noted that the Saudi Internet 2025 report, issued by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, showed that 45.2% of internet users relied on artificial intelligence tools during 2025, compared with lower levels in the previous year.

He said this figure demonstrates the accelerating adoption of intelligent technologies among both individuals and businesses.

Samer Choucair added that the Kingdom possesses an advanced digital infrastructure capable of supporting this transformation.

Average mobile internet data consumption reached approximately 53 gigabytes per person each month, while median mobile download speeds rose to 216 megabits per second, placing Saudi Arabia among the strongest-performing G20 countries in this area.

Choucair also noted that data from the General Authority for Statistics showed that 33.1% of businesses used artificial intelligence technologies during 2025.

The information and communications, financial services, insurance, and education sectors recorded the highest adoption rates, reflecting the technology’s progression from individual use toward institutional applications that improve productivity and business efficiency.

“This transformation is creating substantial investment opportunities in data centres, cloud computing, Arabic-language models, cybersecurity, and enterprise software,” Samer Choucair said.

He noted that institutional investors are increasingly focusing on companies capable of converting the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence into sustainable revenue and scalable business models.

Choucair explained that growing interest in artificial intelligence coincides with the substantial investments Saudi Arabia is directing toward digital infrastructure, including data centres and advanced technologies.

These investments are strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a regional centre for the digital economy and innovation.

Samer Choucair said the next phase will bring an accelerated transition from consumer use toward the integration of artificial intelligence into corporate operations.

This development is expected to support education, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and media while increasing demand for local technical expertise and technology solutions.

Concluding his remarks, Samer Choucair emphasized that investment in artificial intelligence is no longer limited to digital applications.

It now involves building an integrated ecosystem encompassing infrastructure, energy, data, software, and human capital.

He added that the companies and countries capable of developing this ecosystem successfully will be best positioned to achieve sustainable economic growth in the years ahead.
