Samer Choucair: CFI’s Expansion in Latin America and Africa Is Redrawing the Investment Map of Emerging Markets

Entrepreneur Samer Choucair said the direct expansion strategy pursued by CFI Financial Group across Latin America and Africa reflects a profound shift in global capital allocation toward faster-growing and increasingly digital emerging markets.

Choucair explained that the launch of the group’s operations in Colombia and South Africa, together with its receipt of a licence from the Central Bank of Brazil, demonstrates the importance of establishing a strong local regulatory presence before beginning operational expansion.

This approach enables financial platforms to generate sustainable returns while managing currency risks and regulatory frameworks more effectively.

Samer Choucair noted that the group’s record results during the first half of 2026, when trading volumes reached $5.34 trillion, including more than $3 trillion during the second quarter alone with annual growth of 101%, cannot be attributed solely to volatility arising from geopolitical developments.

The performance also reflects the readiness of the group’s infrastructure and the increasing reliance on mobile trading, which accounted for more than 97% of transactions.

He added that the increase in active clients and the execution of more than 42 million transactions confirm the continued growth of retail investor activity across these markets.

Samer Choucair said CFI’s strategy of pursuing targeted acquisitions of financial-technology companies, alongside substantial investment in artificial intelligence tools for analysis and risk management, is no longer simply a technological advantage.

It has become essential to preserving competitiveness.

He noted that these measures help reduce barriers to market entry for retail investors while creating an attractive opportunity for sovereign wealth funds and asset managers seeking regulated and carefully structured exposure to financial technology and the digital economy.

Choucair emphasized that institutional investors increasingly favour business models combining geographic expansion, regulatory compliance, and technological development.

He cautioned, however, that rapid expansion without sufficient operational readiness can create substantial risks.

Concluding his remarks, Samer Choucair said current changes in investor behaviour across emerging markets are reshaping the global investment-opportunity landscape and placing digital trading services and financial infrastructure among the leading priorities for long-term asset allocation.
