Samer Choucair: Saudi Arabia’s Global Cybersecurity Leadership Strengthens Its Digital Investment Appeal

Entrepreneur Samer Choucair said Saudi Arabia’s retention of first place globally in the cybersecurity indicator of the 2026 IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook for the third consecutive year reflects the Kingdom’s success in building a secure digital environment that strengthens investor confidence and supports the growth of the digital economy.

Choucair explained that Saudi Arabia’s advancement to 13th place globally among 70 economies, alongside its third-place ranking among G20 countries, demonstrates the effectiveness of its economic and regulatory reforms.

He noted that these results provide institutional investors with encouraging indicators regarding the stability of the business environment and its capacity to accommodate long-term investment.

Samer Choucair emphasized that cybersecurity has become one of the most important criteria in assessing investment risk, particularly across sectors connected to artificial intelligence, data centers, digital financial services, and cloud computing.

He explained that stronger digital protection can reduce operational risks and potentially lower the cost of capital for technology projects.

Choucair added that this achievement reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional center for digital investment and increases its ability to attract international partnerships in cybersecurity and advanced technologies.

This progress is aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seek to diversify the economy and increase the contribution of non-oil sectors.

Entrepreneur Samer Choucair said companies operating in telecommunications, information technology, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence are likely to be among the principal beneficiaries of this development.

Investment in digital solutions and technology infrastructure is also expected to increase over the coming years as businesses and government institutions continue strengthening their digital capabilities.

Concluding his remarks, Samer Choucair emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s continued development of its cybersecurity ecosystem and digital-governance frameworks will enhance its ability to attract foreign capital.

He added that this progress will further establish the Kingdom as a regional hub for innovation and advanced technologies, supporting sustainable economic growth and strengthening the global competitiveness of the Saudi economy.
