Samer Choucair on How Smart Agriculture in Saudi Arabia and Egypt Is Shaping the Future of Food Security and Investment

Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that the accelerating shift toward smart agriculture in Saudi Arabia and Egypt reflects a strategic vision to strengthen food security and achieve sustainable development, noting that investment in modern agricultural technologies has become one of the most prominent drivers of economic growth in the region.

Choucair explained that the Kingdom, under Saudi Vision 2030, continues to expand its investments in advanced agricultural technologies, including smart irrigation systems, protected agriculture, vertical farming, and artificial intelligence, helping raise water-use efficiency, increase productivity, and improve the sustainability of the agricultural sector, alongside supporting startups working in agricultural technology.

Choucair added that Egypt is simultaneously advancing its sustainable agricultural development strategy and Egypt Vision 2030, through modernizing irrigation systems, expanding land reclamation, and strengthening digital transformation in the agricultural sector, raising production efficiency and improving the ability to face challenges of water scarcity and climate change.

Choucair noted that the Saudi and Egyptian experiences together represent an integrated model for investment in modern agriculture, combining government support, technology adoption, and encouragement of private sector participation, creating promising investment opportunities in agricultural technology, water management, renewable energy, food supply chains, and logistics services.

Choucair affirmed that rising demand for food security solutions opens the door for investors to benefit from the expected growth in the smart agriculture sector, particularly amid the expanding use of artificial intelligence, data analytics, agricultural robotics, and precision farming technologies, which boost production and reduce resource waste.

Choucair added that the success of these investments requires a focus on innovation and the building of strategic partnerships between governments and the private sector, alongside developing human talent capable of managing modern technologies and converting them into sustainable economic value.

Samer Choucair concluded by affirming that the future of agricultural investment in the Arab region will be built on technology and sustainability, and that Saudi Arabia and Egypt possess the fundamentals needed to lead this transformation, supporting food security, strengthening economic diversification, and offering long-term investment opportunities for local and international investors.
