Samer Choucair: Central Banks’ Gold Rush Reveals Promising Investment Opportunities in Saudi Arabia

Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair emphasized that the continued accumulation of gold by central banks around the world reflects growing interest in safe-haven assets amid ongoing economic and geopolitical developments, highlighting the importance of portfolio diversification and building long-term investment strategies.

Choucair explained that data from the World Gold Council showed several central banks continued to increase their gold reserves throughout 2026 as part of policies aimed at diversifying assets and strengthening financial stability amid persistent volatility in global markets.

Choucair said: “The increasing demand for gold by central banks highlights the importance of risk management and reserve diversification. However, it does not mean that gold should be the only investment choice. Instead, it should form part of a balanced strategy tailored to each investor’s financial objectives.”

He added that Saudi Arabia is well positioned to benefit from this global trend through the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on economic diversification, developing the mining sector, strengthening mineral-related industries, expanding financial markets, and attracting high-quality investments.

Choucair noted that the growing global interest in gold also draws attention to the significant potential of Saudi Arabia’s mining sector and the investment opportunities it offers across mineral exploration, production, downstream industries, and supporting services.

He stressed that investors should view gold as an effective risk management tool while maintaining diversified portfolios rather than relying on a single asset. At the same time, they should focus on sectors experiencing sustainable growth within the Saudi economy, including mining, manufacturing, energy, technology, and logistics.

Concluding his statement, Samer Choucair said: “Successful investing is built on understanding global developments and transforming them into local opportunities. As Saudi Vision 2030 continues to advance, the Kingdom is strengthening its position as a leading investment destination by leveraging its diversified economy, evolving financial markets, and expanding opportunities in mining and related industries.”
