Samer Choucair: The Electric Vehicle Price War Opens New Investment Opportunities in Saudi Arabia

Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that escalating competition in the global electric vehicle market, particularly in China, represents a natural shift in a rapidly growing industry, explaining that these developments simultaneously create important investment opportunities for nations working to build an integrated industrial base, led by Saudi Arabia.

He explained that the pricing pressure electric vehicle manufacturers face reflects increasing competition and expanding production capacity, pushing companies toward improving operational efficiency and strengthening innovation, noting that investors should view these shifts from the angle of long-term opportunities, not through cyclical volatility.

He added that the Kingdom is moving at an accelerating pace toward cementing its position as a regional hub for the electric vehicle industry, benefiting from Saudi Vision 2030's targets, government investment, and partnerships with major global companies, helping transfer technology, strengthen local content, and create quality jobs.

He noted that the expansion in local manufacturing projects, alongside developing charging station infrastructure, and investing in clean energy, strengthens the Kingdom's competitiveness in this vital sector, and opens the door to investment opportunities in feeder industries, supply chains, logistics services, and digital technologies tied to smart mobility.

He affirmed that promising opportunities aren't limited to vehicle manufacturing, but extend to battery production, recycling, mining, software, and smart solutions sectors, fields expected to achieve accelerating growth in the coming years as reliance on electric vehicles expands globally.

Choucair called on investors to adopt a strategy based on diversification and investing in sectors tied to the electric vehicle ecosystem, while focusing on companies possessing sustainable business models and strong partnerships, instead of being preoccupied with short-term price competition.

He concluded his remarks by affirming that the Kingdom possesses the fundamentals needed to build an advanced electric vehicle industry capable of competing regionally and globally, noting that success in this sector depends on integration between manufacturing, technology, and sustainability, which Saudi Vision 2030 is working to cement as one of the economic growth drivers in the period ahead.
