Samer Choucair: Saudi Arabia’s Global Cybersecurity Leadership Strengthens Investor Confidence and Supports the Digital Economy

Entrepreneur Samer Choucair said Saudi Arabia’s retention of first place globally in the cybersecurity indicator of the 2026 IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook for the third consecutive year reflects the success of the Kingdom’s sustained investment in secure digital infrastructure.

He noted that Saudi Arabia’s advancement to 13th place globally in overall competitiveness and third place among G20 economies further demonstrates its ability to support economic growth and strengthen confidence among domestic and international investors.

Samer Choucair explained that cybersecurity is no longer merely a technical consideration.

It has become one of the most important risk-assessment criteria for sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, and investment institutions, as strong cyber resilience helps reduce operational risks and enhances the appeal of investments connected to digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data centers, and digital financial services.

Choucair noted that this achievement reflects the development of Saudi Arabia’s regulatory and legislative environment and the success of efforts led by the relevant authorities to strengthen digital governance.

This progress enhances the Kingdom’s ability to attract foreign direct investment and establish long-term technology partnerships in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Entrepreneur Samer Choucair added that a secure digital environment gives institutional investors greater confidence to expand their exposure to Saudi Arabia, particularly across rapidly growing technology sectors.

It also supports the plans of international companies seeking to establish data centers or develop artificial intelligence, cloud-computing, and digital-service solutions within the Saudi market.

Choucair said telecommunications, information technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and financial technology are likely to be among the principal beneficiaries over the coming years.

Partnerships between Saudi companies and international technology firms are also expected to increase, supporting knowledge transfer, technology localization, and the creation of new investment opportunities.

Samer Choucair emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s continued progress across global competitiveness and cybersecurity indicators will strengthen its position as a regional center for the digital economy.

He noted that investors will monitor the expansion of domestic companies, the development of regulations supporting innovation, and foreign investment flows into technology-related sectors during the next phase.

Concluding his remarks, entrepreneur Samer Choucair said investment in cybersecurity has become an investment in economic sustainability.

Maintaining this level of digital readiness will support Saudi Arabia’s global competitiveness, increase its ability to attract high-quality capital, and consolidate its position as one of the region’s safest and most attractive investment destinations.
