Samer Choucair: The Saudi Economy Continues Strengthening Its Growth in Consumption and Tourism Sectors
Rising domestic demand, expanding giga projects, and a business environment that keeps improving — investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair sees these as the engines behind a qualitative shift in the Saudi economy, driven by accelerating non-oil sector growth within Vision 2030's targets of diversifying income sources and strengthening economic growth sustainability.
He said that global shifts in supply chains and consumption patterns are compelling emerging economies to adopt new models built on innovation and diversity, which the Kingdom has succeeded in applying through developing tourism, retail, services, and entertainment sectors.
He explained that economic indicators reflect continued positive momentum, with consumption and tourism sectors recording notable growth in the recent period, driven by rising domestic demand, improving business environment, and expanding investments in major projects.
He added that the retail sector in the Kingdom is experiencing qualitative development, with e-commerce growth and expanding integrated consumer experiences combining shopping, entertainment, and digital services, strengthening the Saudi market's appeal to investors.
He noted that the tourism and entertainment sector represents one of the most important economic growth drivers, amid expansion in major projects and hosting global events, reflecting on hospitality and related services sectors' growth.
He affirmed that Vision 2030 contributed to building a more diverse, stable investment environment, through supporting infrastructure, improving legislation, and facilitating local and foreign investment entry, strengthening investor confidence in the Saudi market.
Choucair called on investors to focus on sectors tied to consumption, tourism, and supporting technologies, while adopting long-term investment strategies relying on local partnerships, diversifying investment portfolios, and benefiting from structural shifts in the economy.
He added that investment opportunities in the Kingdom are no longer limited to major projects alone, but extend to the value chains tied to them, including digital services, modern commerce, and logistics.
He concluded by affirming that the Kingdom is moving steadily toward a more diverse, competitive economy, and that the period ahead will see further growth in non-oil sectors, strengthening Saudi Arabia's position as a primary investment destination in the region.
