Samer Choucair: The Saudi Gold Index Opens New Investment Horizons Under Vision 2030”s Targets

Saudi Arabia just launched its first direct gold price index and for investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair, the significance extends well beyond a pricing tool. He said that launching the index represents an important development in the journey of modernizing Saudi markets, as it allows investors and consumers to follow gold prices directly for 24, 22, 21, and 18 karat grades, based on global market movement, contributing to making investment decisions more precise and clear.

He explained that this step comes at a time when the Saudi mining sector is experiencing accelerating growth, driven by new discoveries and expansion plans in mineral production, strengthening the Kingdom's position as a global investment destination in the mining sector.

He added that providing real-time, reliable pricing data reduces the information gap between market participants, and raises market efficiency, whether for those looking to purchase bullion and gold coins or for investors through exchange-traded funds and mining company stocks.

He noted that gold still represents one of the most important portfolio diversification tools and hedges against economic volatility and inflation, explaining that a percentage ranging between 10% and 20% of total investment portfolio may be appropriate for many investors, according to their investment goals and risk tolerance, with the necessity of consulting specialists before making any investment decision.

He affirmed that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 doesn't just focus on diversifying income sources, but also works on building more mature, transparent financial markets, considering the new gold price index one of the tools strengthening investor confidence and raising the investment environment's efficiency.

Choucair called on investors to benefit from the index in continuously following price movements, relying on trusted purchase sources, while focusing on long-term investment instead of short-term speculation, affirming that gold remains among the assets contributing to preserving value over the long term.

He concluded by affirming that the Kingdom continues building an advanced investment ecosystem combining technology and transparency, and that launching the gold price index represents an additional step toward strengthening the Saudi market's appeal and supporting mining sector growth, aligning with Vision 2030's targets.
