Samer Choucair: US Treasury Bonds Strengthen Diversification Strategies in 2026

Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that the uncertainty dominating global monetary policy directions has pushed investors to reassess their strategies, with growing interest in assets offering a balance between return and risk management, led by medium-term fixed-income instruments.

He explained that demand for medium-term US Treasury bonds reflects investment institutions' direction toward strengthening portfolio stability, amid continued anticipation regarding the path of interest rates and inflation, noting that this type of asset gives investors greater flexibility compared to short- or long-term instruments.

He added that Saudi Arabia possesses major expertise in managing sovereign portfolios and diversifying assets, strengthening its ability to benefit from global investment opportunities, alongside continuing to implement its ambitious development projects under Saudi Vision 2030.

He noted that the Gulf investor can achieve better balance by combining low-risk global assets with local investments tied to economic growth, such as government sukuk and projects supporting infrastructure, logistics services, tourism, and modern technologies sectors.

He affirmed that diversification doesn't just mean distributing investments, but choosing assets according to clear goals and acceptable risk levels, while following global economic shifts, led by inflation, interest rates, and geopolitical developments, as factors directly affecting investment decisions.

Choucair stressed the importance of building investment portfolios according to a long-term vision, away from being influenced by daily market volatility, explaining that successful investing depends on discipline, asset allocation quality, and benefiting from the opportunities local and global markets offer simultaneously.

He concluded his remarks by affirming that the current stage requires a mix of caution and flexibility, noting that combining fixed-income instruments with investments tied to economic growth provides investors a more stable foundation, and strengthens their ability to achieve sustainable returns in a rapidly changing economic environment.
