Samer Choucair: Bitcoin”s Decline Strengthens the Case for Investing in Real Assets in Saudi Arabia

Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that the volatility seen in the cryptocurrency market, led by Bitcoin, confirms the importance of adopting long-term investment strategies based on portfolio diversification and focusing on assets with genuine economic value, instead of getting swept up behind short-term price movements.

He explained that the figures contained in the original text, including Bitcoin falling from 126,000 dollars to 60,000 dollars, don't align with documented market data so far, and there's also no official information confirming the Public Investment Fund adopted a tokenization strategy for the 2026-2030 period or launched the first center of excellence for tokenizing real assets in January 2026, so they can't be relied upon.

Samer Choucair said: "Cryptocurrency markets are by nature highly volatile, and are affected by multiple factors including global liquidity, regulatory developments, and institutional investor flows, requiring risk management and not relying on a single asset within the investment portfolio."

He added that Saudi Arabia is moving at an accelerating pace in developing the digital economy and financial technologies within Vision 2030's targets, with a focus on financial innovation, digital transformation, and developing regulatory frameworks, creating promising investment opportunities in fintech, regulated digital assets, and digital infrastructure.

He noted that investors should distinguish between investing in highly volatile cryptocurrencies, and investing in technologies supporting the digital economy, such as data centers, cloud computing, and blockchain technologies, which have practical applications across many economic sectors.

He added: "Successful investing doesn't depend on predicting price movement alone, but on understanding long-term economic shifts, and seeking assets that achieve added value and sustainable cash flows."

He concluded by affirming that building a balanced investment portfolio requires diversifying across sectors, and capitalizing on the opportunities Saudi Vision 2030 offers in technology, energy, tourism, and logistics services, while committing to risk management and following regulatory developments, achieving sustainable growth and preserving capital amid the volatility global markets are experiencing.
